Audio consulting and design
We believe in paying it forward. We donate to charities such as St. Baldrick's, speak to at-risk children in local schools, and donate our time and equipment towards artistic pursuits that enrich local culture.
This is what counts!
In the summer of 2005, on the premise that sound systems and speakers should be engineered for the best possible sound, appealing aesthetics, near perfect transient response, and uncolored characteristics, Pressurehead was Born!
A team of dedicated, innovative, and responsible people are charged with the vision of Pressurehead. The primary goal of which is to do the best possible for every challenge presented. The team is selected based on their drive, passion, and a common thread that binds them; They have shown an unwavering commitment to master their craft and will not put forth anything less then their best. This is a matter of pride, passion, and morals. It transcends everything we do, and it shows.
Pressurehead was founded by electrical engineer Erik Kinservik, a 22 year veteran in the audio community who has been designing speakers, sound systems, and electronics for over two decades.
Without the use of an RTA or fancy acoustic measurement tools Erik was winning car stereo competitions at the young age of 17 while the burgeoning car audio market was still in its infancy. Not wanting to limit himself to the vehicles, Erik soon set his sites on the local night club scene and was responsible for several very unique club installations including an aviation themed club where he customized old 55 gallon aviation fuel drums into hidden subwoofers!
Erik's thirst for knowledge led him to acquire an Electrical Engineering degree with emphasis on mathematics, physics, and digital signal processing from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He soon found himself at Motorola where he began his career as an audio logic engineer designing circuitry, amplification, and specifying speakers & microphones for a few of the most popular Motorola phones of the time. As his career progressed he never turned his back on the audio community. Always keeping his finger on the pulse, Erik bore witness to the disturbing evolution of audio companies selling speakers through fancy marketing with little to no actual substance to the claims. Soon it was very apparent that this trend was now all the rage as more and more companies changed their engineering focus from creating better products, to creating larger profit margins.
Pressurehead is different.
